The course covers the American legal system as an instrument of economic, social, and political control. It stresses basic business torts, business crimes, contracts and sales transactions, agency, legal structures of business, government regulation, and property rights. The purpose of this course is to develop an understanding of the basic principles of law as it relates to business. Students will be introduced to the legal concepts of agency, bankruptcy, business organization, business torts and crimes, contract law, employment relationships, government regulation, and sales transactions.
