    Antivirus Program: Software designed to detect, prevent, and remove malicious software from computers.

    Botnet: A network of compromised computers controlled by a central entity, often used for malicious purposes like DDoS attacks or spamming.

    Breach Notification: A requirement for organizations to notify authorities and affected individuals within a specified timeframe after a data breach.

    California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): A state statute intended to enhance privacy rights and consumer protection for residents of California.

    Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA): A U.S. federal law designed to protect the privacy of children under 13 on the internet.

    Consent: Permission for something to happen or agreement to do something, particularly in the context of data collection.

    Cyberbullying: The use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature.

    Cybersecurity: Measures and practices designed to protect computers, networks, and data from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and attacks.

    Data Breach: An incident where sensitive, protected, or confidential data is accessed or disclosed without authorization.

    Data Portability: The ability to transfer personal data from one service provider to another.

    Doxxing: The practice of publicly revealing private information about an individual, typically via the internet, without their consent.

    Drive-by Downloads: The unintentional download of malicious software from a website, often without the user’s knowledge.

    General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): A regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area.

    Identity Theft: The fraudulent acquisition and use of someone's personal information, usually for financial gain.

    Malware: Malicious software designed to harm, exploit, or otherwise compromise computer systems.

    Netiquette: Network etiquette or netiquette refers to the set of rules governing proper online communication and behavior.

    Online Focus Group: A group of individuals engaged through online platforms to provide feedback or information, often used for research purposes.

    Password Manager: A software application that helps users generate, retrieve, and store complex passwords securely.

    Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA): A Canadian law governing how private sector organizations collect, use, and disclose personal information in the course of commercial business.

    Phishing: A fraudulent attempt to obtain sensitive information by disguising as a trustworthy entity in electronic communications.

    Privacy Settings: Options available on social media platforms and other online services to control who can view and interact with your content.

    Right to Erasure: Also known as the "right to be forgotten," it allows individuals to request the deletion of their personal data.

    Software Updates: Patches and improvements released by developers to fix vulnerabilities and enhance the functionality of software.

    Spear Phishing: A targeted phishing attempt aimed at a specific individual or organization, often using personalized information to appear legitimate.

    Two-Factor Authentication: An additional layer of security requiring not only a password and username but also something that only the user has on them.
