You are supporting an instructor who needs a clean, print-ready gradebook snapshot for a midterm progress update. Your job is to calculate results, assign outcomes, highlight performance patterns, and format the worksheet to print professionally.

Instructions
A) Calculate totals and percentages

Open the Chapter 7 gradebook file and Save As:
CH7_Gradebook_Practice_Lastname. -
Add a Total Points column and calculate each student’s total score (use Quick Analysis or AutoSum).

Create a single Points Possible value (one cell) for the total points available.

Add a Percent column and calculate each student’s percentage:
Percent = Total Points / Points Possible -
Make the Points Possible cell reference absolute so you can fill the percent formula down.
B) Determine Pass/Fail and Letter Grade

Add a Pass/Fail column using an IF function:

Pass if the percent is 70% or higher
-
Fail if the percent is below 70%

Add a Letter Grade column using VLOOKUP and the grade scale table provided in the workbook.
C) Add date and highlight results

Insert today’s date using TODAY() and format it as a readable date.

Apply Data Bars to the Total Points column.

Apply Conditional Formatting to:

Highlight low vs. high scores in the Percent column
-
Make Pass/Fail easy to identify at a glance
D) Clean up common errors

Check for errors such as #DIV/0! or #VALUE! and correct the cause (missing values, incorrect data types, or blank cells).
E) Prepare the worksheet to print

Set the worksheet to Landscape.

Set scaling to Fit all columns on one page (or fit the sheet on one page if required).

Set a Print Area so only the gradebook table prints.

Add a header or footer with page numbers if the report prints on more than one page.
