Applying the Bible to Business
Colossians 4:6 is powerful in demonstrating wisdom on how to speak to one another. This scripture instructs us, "Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” Communication skills are a significant aspect of business. When applying this proverb in a business setting, we are asked to allow our speech to exhibit kindness and understanding to coworkers and customers. In the second part of this proverb, "season words with salt," an example of this is communicating with a positive attitude. Finally, according to the proverb, we are instructed to “always” speak this way.
Applying all three actions can be challenging but can be a powerful skill for any manager. What are some practical ways to apply this biblical insight in a business setting? How will it benefit you as a manager? How will it benefit those you lead?
