A variety of industrial and professional organizations have emerged to provide a forum for infrastructure managers and indeed to support the notion that the discipline itself represents a discrete field of study within the engineering profession. These organizations provide a means of spreading relevant information, such as best practices and job availability. However, these organizations often are limited to particular types of infrastructure or specific regions or countries.
